Soy Selena | I’m Selena (aka Selly)
Proud Mexican-American | Latinx photographer, based in South Central Pennsylvania, and serving the York and Adams regions. I’m wired to look out for those moments in peoples’ lives that will bring some emotion and tears when looking back 50 years down the road in life. You will remember the exact feeling you felt in that moment of time through my art.
Most of my photography training and knowledge is all self-taught. I was a member of the Yearbook Staff for my last two years of high school, a hard time in life as it usually is in adolescence, and it brought out a passion in me that has only been fueled by the beauty of life around me. I bought a Canon Rebel in 2014 with my McDonald’s paycheck, and a few years later, a nifty-fifty and several other lenses, and a little MacBook Pro to keep my creative neurons firing at all times; and I haven’t stopped since. I kept my equipment with me throughout the years and it’s brought me all the way here.
I went to college, came back home after a few years, met a tall, bearded guy with a resemblance to Post Malone, a kind heart and humorous personality, who ended up being my partner for life. We live in a small house outside of the hills in Hanover, PA with our daughter, our two dogs, a chihuahua and pitbull; two fat cats and SIX crazy chickens. My hands are pretty full most days but I never have too much going on to stop and just take a picture of whatever makes me feel something.
Can’t wait to connect and create with you.
